Safe Haven
A young woman runs from a mysterious past and lands in a quiet town where she can start over. As luck would have it, starting over just so happens to involve a good looking widower with two kids and a past of his own. Will these two lovers be able to find their own happily ever after? Watch, if you must, and find out.
ClearPlay in Action!
With Medium filters ClearPlay trims some more mild expletives and blasphemy and cuts short a couple of kissing scenes. One sex scene is neatly trimmed right on out of there and the only evidence of any indecent encounters are as the couple lay talking in bed together while she is fully clothed and he is shirtless. What is left behind are thematic issues of abuse, heavy alcoholic-type drinking and the death of a spouse/mother of young children. There were two scenes of domestic abuse still there which may be a little intense for younger audiences. I’m thinking your teens ages 15 and up would be alright with this one.

So what could this Nicholas Sparks movie possibly be lacking? Well I’ll tell you, personality that’s what. Julianne is super cute but she’s got zero personality on this screen. Furthermore, this movie was such a predictable re-telling of every romantic tale ever told that I was naming off every movie I’d ever seen each predictable scene in before. I dare say Duhamel’s crazy bad hair-do had more charisma than this entire film did. If you want a new release Romantic film with style and charm I suggest you go rent Silver Linings Playbook. You’ll be happier I promise.
