DVD Cover

When humans are on the verge of extinction, killed by war machines of their own creation, a scientist creates nine ragdoll-like creatures and imbues them with life. Together they must find a way to put an end to the last of the sentient machines that prowl the earth and seek to destroy them. Along the way, they find the secret to their creation and a hope for the renewing of the world.

The ClearPlay Factor

There is very little to ClearPlay here. The film contains no sex, nudity, or profanity, and the minor edits are for a smattering of frightening images, including corpses of dead humans and the gruesome death of one of the creepier machines. There are some images in the film that would likely frighten younger children, so parents may want to preview it first.

Does 9 Shine?…

While the "humans invent machines that destroy the world" bit has been done to death, 9’s unique imagination and artistic brilliance make it a film you must see at least once. This 3D animated movie has a very Tim Burton-esque feel (though he his only attached to the film as a producer), and the little details and clever contraptions continually evoke a sense of wonder. The plot and characters aren’t particularly deep, but you owe yourself a journey into this delightfully realized post-apocalyptic world.

I have four children, all in their teens, that I have tried as long as I can to prevent them from hearing or seeing anything that I think will pollute their minds, especially from watching TV. I discourage them even to watch the PG movies. With your invention, I know that we will have more movie selections to watch. I thank you very much, and I pray that God will bless you always for what you have done.

I love the idea of Clearplay. I want the choice to block out things I do not want to see or hear. Thanks!
